Designer Mika Tolvanen The idea behind the Visu chair was to create an elegant simple interpretation of the archetypal plywooden chair. I wanted the design to have a sober timeless character capable of bringing a feeling of modern familiarity to any room combined with a comfortable seat in moulded plywood. Designing the chair as a family of seats all linked aesthetically but which can be used for different functions was a study on the adaptation of a design to its environment and a process which lasted almost two years. The Visu Chair is a new perspective on the traditional wooden chair echoing the idea of Scandinavian design combined with modern expression.
